How do I use Central Control to upgrade to Fortres 101 Version 5.5?
Answer
Using Central Control to upgrade to Fortres 101 5.5:
1. Download the file.
2. Open the Fortres 101 interface on a client computer.
3. Open the Central Control page.
4. Select the computers to upgrade.
5. Right click and select Upgrade.
6. Indicate the location of the upgrade file.
7. At this point, the client computer will copy the upgrade installation file to the server. The service will leave a message for each selected client to copy the file from the server to the client computer.
8. Once the client computer has received the file (pending operation is NO), select the computer again.
9. Right click and select Restart
10. When the update interval expires, the client computers will reboot and begin installing the new build.
11. When the installation is finished, the client computers will reboot themselves automatically.
The following steps need to be completed if upgrading from Fortres 101 Version 4.1 or Version 5.0 to Fortres 101 Version 5.5:
1. Open the Central Control window.
2. Select the computers that have been updated to version 5.5.
3. Right click and select Activate.
4. Enter the Serial number in the box provided.
5. Click OK.
6. When the update interval expires, the client computers will receive the activation information.
7. When the next update interval expires, the Central Control interface will report the software has been activated.
