Question
How to use Central Control to upgrade to Clean Slate 4.0 from Clean Slate Version 3.0.
Answer
Using Central Control to upgrade to Clean Slate Version 4.0:
1. Download the upgrade installation file.
2. Open the Fortres Security Interface on a client computer.
3. Open the Central Control window.
4. Select the computers to upgrade.
5. Right click and select Assign Pending Operations | Upgrade...
6. Indicate the location of the upgrade file (downloaded in step 1).
7. At this point, the client computer will copy the upgrade installation file to the server. The service will leave a message for each selected client to copy the file from the server to the client computer.
8. Right click and select Assign Pending Operations | Restart. Warning: The user will not have an opportunity to save any work when the client computer executes this command.
9. When the update interval expires, the client computers will connect with the Central Control server, download the upgrade installation file, and reboot.
10. Upon reboot, the client computers will begin installing the new version.
11. When the installation is finished, the client computers will reboot automatically.
12. Once the computers have restarted with Clean Slate Version 4.0, open the Fortres Security Interface from one of the client computers.
13. Open the Central Control window.
14. Click the Registered column to sort it.
15. Select the computers with "No" in the Registered column.
16. Click the Assign Operation | Register... button in the toolbar.
17. Enter the serial number from your Registration card in the box and click OK.
18. When the update interval expires, the client computers will connect with the Central Control server and retrieve the serial number.
19. At the next update interval, click the Refresh button to verify the computers are now registered.
